Golf Dropshipping - Products & Suppliers

Golf Dropshipping - Products & Suppliers

In this article, we’ll explore golf dropshipping, products to sell, and golf suppliers.

We’ve explored selling golf products on Amazon and found several profitable products to sell. While doing so, we learned a lot about the niche.

We’ll share everything we learned in the article, as well as some of the products we think are winners and our favorite golf suppliers.

Let’s tee off (or get started).

Key Takeaways

  • We recommend selling novelty and gift golf products. They have a good profit margin, are small and light, and have fewer expectations from customers.
  • Avoid clubs and golf bags as they’re heavy. And there’s a lot of competition with big brands. If you do want to sell these types of products, consider using a wholesaler, like Second Chance. They allow you to sell branded golf clubs, bags, watches, and more.
  • J and M, Reydon Sports, and Golf4Her are all golf and sports stores that offer dropshipping services.

10 Best Golf Products to Dropship

We’ve hand-selected ten golf products we think are winners.

All of these products have been chosen based on the following criteria:

  • Size and weight - All of the products are relatively small and light. So, they’ll be cheap to ship. Giving you a higher profit margin. To sell large and heavy products, like clubs, trollies, and bags, it’ll cost a lot to ship. And if customers want to return the products, they’ll cost a lot to return.
  • Profitability - We’ve looked at how much each of these products costs and how much you can likely sell them for. Based on our research, they all have a profit margin of over 20%.
  • Price - Golf can be an expensive sport, with clubs costing thousands. We’ve chosen products that are under $50. We find more success with lower-ticket products, as customers are more likely to buy more expensive products from established retailers.
  • Competition and Novelty Factor - Many of the products we recommend are golfing accessories or gifts. Customers are likely to spend more on these types of products. Plus the expectations are lower. For a sport like golf, customers have high expectations for products like golf clubs. And there is much more competition with well-known brands. So, we’ve avoided these and gone for products that are more complimentary or novelty. We’ve also found that these types of products have a lower return or refund request rate. Win-win.

1. Customized Golf Polos

You can create designs and add them to existing golf polo shirts. Print-on-demand sites, like Printful, have a basic Adidas polo shirt that allows you to upload your own design to the chest.

Creating your own golf shirts can set you apart from the competition. You can add pictures or text. These could be your brand, something funny, something personal (e.g., Grandad’s Golfing Shirt), etc.

By using a print-on-demand supplier, you can create as many designs as you want. And you only pay once a customer orders.

2. Women’s Golf Apparel

Golf used to be a male-dominated sport. In the UK in 2017, only 12-13% of golfers were female. By 2021, this number increased to 34% [1]. And statistics show that the percentage of women playing golf is increasing year-on-year [2].

The growing number of women playing golf means the demand for women’s golf apparel is increasing.

Golf apparel is super easy to sell online, and you can usually source it cheaply. This should give you a good profit margin.

3. Golf Chipping Net

Golfers can practice their shots using a chipping net. It’s a small net that can be folded away for easy storage.

There are lots of different options and sizes you can sell. Such as ones for different abilities, styles, shapes, foldable, etc. There are also full size options and smaller target-style nets.

These nets are in high demand on Amazon, and there aren’t many sellers. There is also no dominant brand, and sales are distributed across several products. This is a good sign, as it shows there is space in the market for new sellers.

4. Practice Mat

Similar to the chipping net, a practice mat is a piece of turf or turf-style material that goes on the ground and golfers can use to practice their shots.

There are lots of different types of mats with various textures. This allows the golfers to practice on mats that replicate short grass, long grass, bunkers, and other terrains.

You could also sell a mat with holes for golfers to practice putting.

5. Golf Gifts

Golf gifts are small novelty items that can be given as gifts to golf lovers. There are lots of different types of golf gifts you could dropship.

Some of the most popular on Etsy currently are the following:

  • Personalized golf tees
  • Leather golf notebook
  • Golf ball stamp
  • Personalized golf glove
  • Golf tee drawstring bag holder
  • Golf mug
  • Golf bag air freshener
  • Drinking glass with a golf ball
  • Wall art to collect golf balls
  • Scorecard holder

These are perfect for any occasion. But especially for birthdays, Father’s day, Valentine's day, bachelor gifts, etc.

These could be customized with initials or names. Or you could add generic terms, like Boyfriend, Wife, Husband, Dad, Mom, etc.

Like we said in the introduction, customers are likely to spend more on gift items and the expectations are lower. So, you’ll usually have less returns - and more profit.

6. Novelty Driver Headcovers

A driver headcover stops the driver from becoming damaged.

They come in different materials, including leather and knit. And some slip on the driver and others need to be secured with velcro or a magnet.

A novelty cover could be anything that’s ‘out-of-the-box.’ We’ve seen dog heads, characters, sports team shirts, flags, etc. Funny headcovers could also be popular on social media, which can help gain traction.

7. Travel Cover

Travel covers store a golf bag and set of clubs. They keep the clubs protected and together.

Travel covers are mostly used for flights. So make sure the bag you sell is compliant with most airlines.

This product is the biggest and most expensive one on the list. But it has a considerable profit margin and is far less competitive than other large golf products.

8. Golf GPS Watch

A golf watch tells players the distance between the shot and the hole, allowing them to choose the right club.

We thought we’d include a tech product as golf gadgets are becoming more popular [4]. Especially for those more serious about golf who use gadgets to help improve their play.

However, like with all tech, it can be a risky product to dropship. This is because it’s more expensive, and customers have expectations as to what the product should be like. And there is a higher risk of it going wrong or being faulty. Which can result in a high return and refund rate.

9. Golf Ball Retriever

A golf ball retriever is an extendable stick that can be used to retrieve golf balls from difficult to reach places. For example, in a bush, bunker, down a slope, water, etc.

It’s a simple product, with very little risk. It’s also cheap to source at around $2. And is currently selling on Amazon for around $15-20, giving you a considerable profit margin.

10. Golf Cleaning Set

Consider selling a small kit of cleaning solutions, towels, and brushes for golf clubs and shoes.

There are several kits available online, but most of them look very similar. So, if you can come up with a new selection of products or a better product design, then there is definitely space in the market.

For us, this seems like a natural add-on product that can be offered at checkout. It’s not something that’s a necessity or something that a golfer would think they need. But for a low price, they might be tempted at checkout.

6 Golf Dropshipping Suppliers

The product you want to sell will determine the supplier you choose. So, we’ve added a variety, including golf-specific suppliers, print-on-demand options, and AliExpress.

We’ve chosen these suppliers based on our interaction with them when we were sourcing products. As well as their product selection and dropshipping options.

1. Zazzle - Best Option for Print-On-Demand

Zazzle is a print-on-demand site. Usually, we’d recommend Printful and Printify for print-on-demand dropshipping. However, Zazzle has the widest range of golf products.

Some of the golf products available on Zazzle include golf balls, golf headcovers, golf towels, bottle opener divot tools, golf gloves, Nike polo shirts, and other apparel.

To use Zazzle, you choose the product you want to sell and upload your design.

Then, you can use Zazzle’s marketplace to sell your products. And when a customer buys from you, Zazzle automatically handles the shipping and customer service.

The main downside of Zazzle is that it doesn’t directly integrate with Shopify. Whereas Printful and Printify do. So, if you want to sell on your own site, we recommend choosing an alternative supplier.

2. J and M Golf - Best Golf Supplier for the USA

J and M is a golf distributor for both resellers and dropshippers.

They sell a huge range of golf products. Including clubs, shoes, accessories, tees, and more.

To use J and M, you need to register for an account. Once your account is approved, you can view the prices of products.

Note, if you are dropshipping products there is a $2 additional charge per order. And if the order is under $50, there is a $3 fee.

3. Reydon Sports - Best Golf Supplier for the UK

Reydon Sports is a wholesaler of sports and outdoors products. There is a large selection of golf products. With some of the most popular being a rainstorm hood, trolley, golf towels, clubs, and juniors clubs.

As a wholesaler, they only sell to other businesses and do not sell directly to customers. This usually means the products are priced reasonably to allow you to generate profit. And you don’t have to compete with them.

Orders have to be placed manually, either online, by email, or by phone. They offer shipping across Europe. However, they currently only offer dropshipping services to the UK.

4. Golf4her - Best for Women’s Apparel

We looked at how the percentage of women playing golf is increasing year-on-year earlier in the article.

So, we thought we’d include a women-specific golf dropshipping supplier.

Golf4Her predominantly sells women’s golf apparel. Including jackets, tops, bottoms, and dresses. But they also sell shoes, golf bags, and other accessories.

There is a dropshipping program available. To sign up, complete the form on the website. Once you’re approved, you’ll have access to discounted prices.

All of the products available can be shipped within the US, and most products can be shipped internationally. With the exception of larger products like golf club bags, trolleys, etc.

5. AliExpress - Best Option for Hands-Off Dropshipping

AliExpress has to be mentioned when we talk about dropshipping suppliers. AliExpress is a site that allows sellers to list their products. The majority of sellers are based in China, and often the products are very affordable. And they sell directly to consumers, which means you can order one item at a time - perfect for dropshipping.

One huge benefit of finding a supplier on AliExpress is that it integrates with dropshipping software like AutoDS. AutoDS is an automation tool. So, you can automatically add products from AliExpress to your store. When you receive orders, you can automate the order and fulfillment process.

AliExpress isn’t a golf-specific dropshipping supplier. However, there are lots of golf products available in many variations. To find the best price supplier on AliExpress, we recommend ordering several samples and comparing the supplier’s reviews.

6. Second Chance - Best for Selling Branded Products

Second Chance isn’t a dropshipping supplier like the other options. Instead, it’s a wholesaler.

Wholesalers allow you to sell branded products by buying the products in bulk from the brand at a discounted rate. They then sell those products to you.

Although Second Chance isn’t a dropshipping supplier, we thought we’d include it here as it’s a great option if you want to sell competitive products (like clubs) or products with a higher risk of fault (like tech). This is because you’re not competing with dominant brands and have the quality guarantee and brand trust.

Second Chance is one of the industry leaders with warehouses in the UK, EU, China, and USA.

To use Second Chance, you need to sign up for an account. Once you have an account, you can access the product catalog.

Some of the golf brands currently available on Second Chance include Samsung, Sunday Golf, PGA Tour, Blast Golf, and many more.

You may have seen other suppliers recommended online. These include:

  • Golfetail
  • Rock Bottom Golf
  • Golf Discount
  • American Golf
  • Golf Warehouse

While these are all excellent places to buy golf products, they aren’t exclusively dropshipping suppliers. This can make it difficult to fulfill orders, manage returns and refunds, generate profit, and compete. However, if you can overcome this, they are repeatable sellers.

Should I Dropship Golf Products?

Yes, we think there are lots of winning golf products to dropship. There is a huge variety of products, the niche is growing, and we’ve found tons of products that aren’t very competitive.

But be careful of the products you choose, as some are very competitive and their size and weight can make them challenging to dropship.

Here is a quick overview of the benefits and risks of dropshipping golf products.

Benefits of Dropshipping in the Golf Niche

  • High Profit - Golf is generally considered a more expensive sport. With that, golfers are likely to spend more on products. This gives you the opportunity to generate a good profit margin. We also looked at lots of golf gifts and novelty products, which have a high margin.
  • Product Variety - As we saw in the product recommendations, there are tons of golf products. This variety gives you lots of options to choose from and the opportunity to build a store full of golf products.
  • Growing in Popularity - Statistics show that golf participation is continuing to rise [5]. A rise in popularity usually translates to a rise in demand. And high demand means high sales.
  • Low Competition Products  - We’ve found tons of products during our research that aren’t competitive. We think there is still a lot of space in the market for new sellers.

Risks of Dropshipping in the Golf Niche

  • Seasonal - Golf is typically a summer sport. So, usually golf sales will peak just before the summer and drop off afterwards. Seasonal products are great during the peak. But sales can drop very low when the product isn’t in demand. It is also more difficult to manage ads for seasonal products. You can easily end up spending too much if you push your ads at the wrong time. And miss out on sales if you don’t push your ads enough.
  • Big Brands - Yes, we said there is low competition for many golf products. However, for some products, like golf clubs, shoes, and certain apparel, there is a lot of competition from the big golf brands. And these are products we wouldn’t attempt to compete with.Instead of competing, you can sell some brands by using a wholesaler. For example, Second Chance is a sports wholesaler that specializes in golf products. They have several big brands, including Sunday Golf, Samsung, PGA Tour, Blast, and many more. A wholesaler allows you to sell these major brands on your own website.
  • Size and Weight of Certain Products - Golf clubs and a golf bag are both big and heavy. These products are typically much more expensive to ship. And if the customer wants to return them, it’s expensive. This will reduce your profit margin.

5 Quick Tips for Dropshipping Golf Products

If you’re interested in selling golf products, here are five tips to help create a successful store.

1. Add Upsells and Order Bumps

We touched on this briefly with the golf cleaning kit in the first section. There are many low-cost golf products that you can easily add as an upsell or order bump to your store.

These are offers that appear when a customer goes to checkout and can significantly increase your revenue and margin. These offers also help customers discover new products.

2. Vet Your Suppliers

Make sure to research and test products before selecting a supplier. A reliable supplier with high-quality products can make your dropshipping store successful. And sadly, a poor supplier can ruin your dropshipping store.

Some of our tips for choosing a supplier are the following:

  • Look at reviews - All AliExpress suppliers are reviewed. You can look at other customer’s experiences to help you choose a reliable supplier. Print-on-demand companies also have reviews for each product.
  • Check out their products - Ideally, you want to choose a supplier that stocks many different golf products. Then, you can expand your selection easily. Using one supplier also creates a seamless experience for customers. If they order more than one product from you, they’ll be packaged together and arrive together.
  • Order product samples - The best way to confirm a product’s quality is to request a sample and check it yourself. You can test several products and choose the best one.
  • Compare the Details - What is the supplier's return policy, refund policy, and warranty? And how quickly can they prepare and ship the product? Speak to multiple suppliers and compare their policies to choose the right one.

If you want more information on how to choose a dropshipping supplier, check out this article with all the details.

3. Build a Golf-Focused Site

Your store should look professional and attractive to golfers. Look at other successful golf stores, the themes they use, fonts, and how they organize their catalog.

We also recommend making sure your product descriptions, titles, and images are golf-specific and informative for potential customers.

4. Look at New Trends and Tech

Emerging trends can help you find winning product ideas. You can use sites like Google Trends or a tool like Exploding Topics to find trends before they peak.

For example, we looked at the GPS tracking device in the product recommendations.

This product was found by looking at new golfing trends. We found out that many golfers are using data to analyze shots and improve their performance. Which then led us to find the GPS tracker.

5. Expand Your Product Selection

Become the go-to destination for all your customer’s golf needs.

Add lots of different golf products for different abilities and needs. Then, you’ll attract a wide range of customers - and they’ll return to rebuy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I Dropship Golf Products on Shopify?

Yes! Shopify is our favorite platform to sell on and golf products have lots of potential. If you’re new to Shopify, check out our exclusive $1-for-a-month deal.

Is It Legal to Dropship Golf Products?

In general, yes. Most golf products are absolutely legal to sell. Just make sure you’re not infringing on any copyrights and get permission if you want to sell other brand’s products. And check the laws and regulations in the country you want to sell and import from.

Is Golf a Good Dropshipping Niche?

Yes! We think golf is a great dropshipping niche. There are lots of products that are in high demand and have low competition - two things we always look for.

But it can be a seasonal niche. And there are some products we would avoid. Such as golf clubs as they’re heavy and it’s hard to compete with established brands.

Final Thoughts

Let’s tally the scores.

Novelty products, gifts, training products, and tech are some winning golf products to sell.

The product you want to sell will determine which supplier you choose. If you want to sell print-on-demand products, use Zazzle or Printful to source them from. For specialist golf products, use J and M Golf. And check out AliExpress for anything else.

To make sure the product you’ve chosen is a winner, use Dropship’s Sales Tracker. You can add products to your own sales tracker and monitor their performance before you commit to selling them. Dropship currently has a 7-day free trial that gives you unlimited access to the Sales Tracker.
