Key Takeaways

  • Use market statistics for the country you’re selling in to find winning yoga products, e.g., at-home vs. studio practice, age-related products, etc.
  • Consider selling customized yoga products to stand out from the competition.

Are Yoga Products a Good Dropshipping Niche?

Yes, yoga products can be a winning niche. There is a huge variety of products, and Google Trends shows the niche isn’t seasonal.

Constant demand and product variation are great for dropshipping. This should give you year-round profit and the ability to expand your store and test different products.

Product Variety

Yoga is a large niche with so many products to choose from.

You could sell yoga mats, apparel, or yoga accessories.

There are also different types of yoga that require different products. E.g., Towels and a sweaty clothes bag for Bikram yoga.

Customization Options

You can design your own prints and use them on leggings, yoga mats, water bottles, towels, and lots of other yoga accessories.

Custom designs can make you stand out from your competition and help generate sales.

Demand and Seasonality

As we saw from Google Trends, yoga products aren’t seasonal. We always recommend selling products that aren’t seasonal as you will make year-round sales and, therefore, profit.

Studies have also shown that yoga is expected to continue rising in popularity [1], and the market is expected to increase by 9 percent worldwide [2].

What are the Risks of Dropshipping Yoga Products?

Competing with industry leaders and market saturation are the main risks of dropshipping yoga products.

There are ways you can work around this, including finding unique products and selling customized ones.

Competition

Big brands, like Nike, Lululemon, Gymshark, Alo, Adidas, etc., are difficult to compete with.

However, with the right products and marketing, you can stand out among the competition and create a profitable yoga store.

Limited Repurchase Options

Once you buy a yoga mat, it is unlikely that you’ll need to purchase another one anytime soon. This means that your customer repeat purchase rate is likely to be low on some products.

Although, if your product is high-quality and customers are happy with their purchase, they might recommend you to their friends or share your product on social media. This can help increase your sales.

Yoga Products to Dropship - Our Top Recommendations

Using the Product Database tool, we’ve found a variety of yoga products we think could be winners.

You can use the product ideas for your own store. Or, use the 7-day free trial to find products on the Product Database.

We also have an article on How to Find Winning Products if you need more ideas.

1. Custom Yoga Mat

Create your design and use a supplier that will custom print it on a yoga mat.

You can also choose the thickness and width of the yoga mat and decide whether it’s non-slip.

High-quality and custom yoga mats are more desirable as they aren’t available anywhere else. It can also help your brand stand out and increase sales.

We don't recommend selling a standard yoga mat. This is due to the high levels of competition from established brands (like Nike or Lululemon), online marketplaces (like Amazon), and retail stores (like Target or Walmart).

2. Yoga Mat Bag or Holder

A yoga mat bag or holder is a way of transporting your yoga mat without having to hold it.

There are various options you could sell. These include the following:

  • A gym bag with a yoga mat compartment or holder
  • A bag that is specially designed to hold a yoga mat and sits on your shoulder
  • A strap that fastens around the yoga mat that can be hand-held or carried on the shoulder

You can create custom designs that complement the yoga mats you sell.

You could bundle a yoga mat with a bag or holder to make it easy for customers to buy both at once.

You can also add a ‘Frequently Bought Together’ section underneath your yoga mat listing, linking to the bag

You could also offer a discount. For example, buy both the yoga mat and bag or holder and save 10 percent.

All of these methods will help your customers and increase sales.

3. Balance Board, Cushion, or Rocker Board

Balance boards, cushions, and rocker boards are often used to help strengthen muscles and improve posture. They are commonly used in yoga to practice balancing and challenge experienced yogis.

A balance or wobble board is usually a round board with a domed base. You can comfortably place two feet on top of the balance board and shift your weight from foot to foot to wobble the board.

A balance cushion is durable enough to stand on. It can help improve stability by standing on it. It can also be sat on to relieve back pain.

Rocker boards are curved pieces of wood. They can be used in a variety of yoga positions. They are also commonly used in kids' yoga practice.

Rocker boards and balance boards tend to be larger than the cushion. This can make them more expensive to ship. However, at current retail prices, there is definitely profit to be made.

4. Yoga Straps and Bands

Yoga bands help users to hold poses longer and can support a stretch.

Yoga straps and bands come in a variety of materials, sizes, and designs.

Some are open pieces of banding, and others are loops.

The elastic options come in various strengths. Lighter options have more stretch, which gives users more movement. Stronger options will be more rigid and require users to use more strength to stretch them.

You could sell a variety of bands, including different colors, designs, and strengths.

5. Yoga Clothes; Pants/Leggings

Leggings continue to increase in popularity [3]. They are worn not only for yoga but also as casual wear.

This increased demand and popularity suggest yoga leggings could be a winning dropshipping product.

However, it is a competitive niche. So, you will need to create a product with a unique selling point.

This could be the quality, function, material, or design. Print-on-demand services allow you to dropship custom designs. This can help set your product apart from the competition.

6. Yoga Socks

Yoga socks have a sticky base that allows your foot to grip the mat.

They are used for balance and can protect your feet from an unclean studio.

The size and weight of the yoga socks make them perfect for dropshipping. This is because they are small, light, and, therefore, cheap to ship.

Yoga socks are a great order bump product. Order bumps help customers find useful and related products (and increase your revenue!)

Order bumps are added to your checkout page, making it easy for customers to add them to their existing baskets.

Which Yoga Products Should I Avoid Dropshipping?

The size and weight of products are two things we’re wary of when choosing winning products.

Avoid dropshipping large and heavy yoga products, as they will cost you a lot to ship.

1. Yoga Bolster

A yoga bolster is a large cylindrical cushion.

They can be used in a variety of ways during practice to support different poses.

We recommend avoiding these because they are heavy and bulky. This makes them expensive to ship, and they’re not selling for a particularly high price, leaving you with little profit.

2. Yoga Mat Storage

A yoga teacher, gym, or studio might require storage for their yoga mats. Yoga mat storage is usually a large crate or rack.

We would avoid this product as the target market, and demand is relatively small. The size and weight of the product also make it expensive to store and ship. This can consume a considerable amount of your profit.

3. Yoga Sandbag

Yoga sandbags are sold in two ways. The first is an empty bag that the customer needs to fill themselves. The second is a pre-filled sandbag.

We would avoid selling a pre-filled option. This is because it can burst or pierce during transit, leaving customers requesting refunds, which can lead to financial losses. The weight will also make it expensive to ship.

How to Find the Best Dropshipping Suppliers for Yoga Products

You can find a supplier for your yoga products in various ways.

You can search on Google for a wholesale yoga store or retail store that facilitates dropshipping. These stores can be great options as they will often stock a variety of yoga products. This allows you to easily expand your store with the same supplier.

However, these options aren’t often automated. This means you’ll need to manually contact the supplier every time you receive a new order and update your customer with their shipping information. This can be time-consuming and has a high chance of human error.

Alternatively, you can use online marketplaces. Online marketplaces are the first place we look for a supplier.

Usually, these marketplaces will have several suppliers offering similar products. However, the quality, price, policies, and communication will vary.

Request samples from these suppliers to compare the quality of the products.

If you need help choosing your perfect supplier, you can ask the following questions:

  • What is the cost per piece?
  • Where will the products be shipped from?
  • Is the supplier also the manufacturer?
  • How much is the shipping?
  • Which shipping courier do you use, and how long does it take?
  • How long does it take between receiving the order and the product shipping?
  • What are the return, refund, and warranty policies?
  • Do you offer custom packaging?
  • Can you provide images and videos of the product?
  • Do you facilitate dropshipping? (including integrating with automation tools, not adding invoices, promotions, or other logos in the product packaging)

  3. AliExpress
  4. Omni Gym Yoga Swings
  5. Wai Lana
  6. Dropship.io

1. Printify

Printify is a printing service for e-commerce stores. They allow users to order one item at a time, making it perfect for dropshipping.

Add a custom design to either yoga mats, leggings, towels, water bottles, sportswear, or another of their 800+ products.

You can connect Printify to your online store, as they integrate with Shopify, eBay, Wix, Squarespace, WooCommerce, Etsy, Walmart, and more.

Connecting your store with Printify lets you import your custom-designed pieces straight to your store. Your orders will be processed automatically, and Printify handles the packaging and fulfillment for each order.

To use Printify, you need to subscribe to a plan. There are three subscription plans.

The first is free, allowing you to create unlimited product designs and connect five stores to your account. You can use the mockup generator, integrate your store, and have access to custom order import.

The next plan available is the Premium plan. This is $29 per month or $24.99 per month when paid annually. You have access to all of the benefits of the free plan plus the ability to connect ten stores to the account and up to 20% discount on all products.

2. Barefoot Yoga

Barefoot Yoga is an online retailer that supports dropshipping.

They sell various yoga products, including mats, blocks, straps, bolsters, blankets, and cushions. They also have a range of meditation products. This allows you to expand your store into other niches.

Barefoot Yoga offers free shipping to 48 US states on orders over $75 and free returns.

Although they have great yoga products and policies, several of their products are currently out of stock. Stock issues can cause difficulties with dropshipping as you don’t want to disappoint your customers and deal with constant refunds.

However, you can request access to the inventory file or contact Barefoot Yoga directly for more details.

3. AliExpress

AliExpress is a free online marketplace with a huge range of suppliers.

The majority of the suppliers are based in China. Some suppliers will have warehouses in other countries. Working with a supplier who has a warehouse near your target audience can help both shipping time and costs.

The product quality can vary greatly. We recommend requesting samples from a variety of suppliers and comparing the quality of the products

It’s also a good idea to use a supplier that stocks other yoga products you might be interested in selling.

Using one supplier ensures a smooth experience for customers if they’re ordering multiple products. The products will arrive together and in the same packaging.

AliExpress is great for dropshipping. This is because you can usually order one single product at a time. Suppliers often integrate with dropshipping software, allowing you to automate your order fulfillment process. This will save you tons of time.

4. Omni Gym Yoga Swings

Omni Gym sells swings, hammocks, trapezes, stands, and other yoga swing accessories.

The brand is based in the US, and all orders are sent from California.

This is convenient if you’re selling in the US, as your customers will receive their orders quickly, and it is usually cheaper than shipping internationally. They also ship internationally, and most orders arrive in 6 to 12 days.

They have a dropship program which you have to apply to join.

Once you’ve been accepted, you can list their products on your website. The dropship program allows you to keep 15% of the sales price.

You will need to manually pay Omni Gym via PayPal for the order, and they will then process the order within two days and ship the products directly to your customer.

5. Wai Lana

Wai Lana has one of the most diverse yoga stores. Products include mats, straps, brands, bags, folding mats, socks, DVDs, towels, cushions, and balls. They also have a huge range of yoga products for kids.

This variety means you can easily expand your store and list other Wai Lana products.

Wai Lana has a free dropshipping program. You must apply to join.

Once approved, you can use Wai Lana's images and product details on your website. When you receive an order, you forward the details to Wai Lana, and they will process and fulfill the order for you.

All orders are shipped from California, and most are processed within one business day. They ship both within the US and internationally. However, international orders will take longer to arrive.

They also handle any returns at their warehouse. But the sender will be required to cover the costs of shipping.

6. Dropship.io

The latest feature we’ve launched is the Supplier directory.

The directory is a list of vetted suppliers. Working with vetted suppliers will give you peace of mind as you know they are trustworthy and reliable.

The main page of the directory shows you an overview of each supplier. You can see how many years they’ve operated, their location, transaction volume, average shipping time, order processing time, and many other helpful details.

You can contact the suppliers via Skype to discuss your product needs. Using Skype allows you to create direct relationships and arrange deals. You can also use your preferred secure payment gateway to process orders.

You will need a Dropship.io account to access the Supplier feature. If you don’t have an account yet, we currently have a 7-day trial, so you can check it out for free.

Successful Dropshipping Yoga Stores

It’s hard to confirm whether a store is really successful as we will never know its exact costs or advertising expenses.

However, with the Sales Tracker tool, you can see the approximate sales of any Shopify yoga store.

Click the graph icon on the right-hand side to find specific store metrics. Here you will be able to see estimated revenue, total products sold, as well as the top-performing products in the store.

You can contact the supplier to determine whether a product is profitable. Once you have the product’s price, you can deduct it from the sales data on the Sales Tracker.

You can also see if the store is running ads on Facebook and Instagram.

We’ve used the Sales Tracker to investigate the following three yoga stores in-depth.

1. CRZ Yoga

If you’ve got TikTok, you’ve probably heard of CRZ Yoga. The brand sells yoga and gym wear and works with lots of TikTok influencers to advertise its products.

They are known for their leggings which rival one of the industry leaders.

We can see from the Sales Tracker that they have made over $9 million in revenue in the last 30 days. Most of the revenue is made from the Butterluxe yoga leggings, which have 96 variations.

We can also use the Sales Tracker to find any ads they’re running on both Facebook and TikTok.

Spying on other brands' successful ads is a huge advantage for your store.

You can see when the campaigns are launched and on what platforms. You can also see what kind of videos they’re using to promote the product - as in this case, it’s clearly working - and how you can replicate it.

2. Exercere

Exercere is a Danish activewear brand. They sell leggings, bras, jackets, socks, shorts, tops, bags, hats, and other fitness clothes and accessories.

Two of the top-selling products are the Sculpt Bra and the Sculpt Tights. Each has six size variations and four color options. The Sales Tracker shows us that the best-selling color is Black, with Pecan Brown coming in a close second.

If you’re launching a yoga apparel site, you can use this information for product ideas. You can look at the shapes of the best-selling products, how they’re being advertised, and know that black and brown are proven top sellers.

3. Wolven Threads

Wolven Threads is a sustainable fashion brand. They sell a variety of activewear but are most known for their printed products.

The Sales Tracker shows us that the store was launched in 2016 and has 165 products listed.

We can also see that on March 22nd, 2022, they almost doubled their revenue compared to the day before.

After seeing this, we looked through their social media and found they ran a $1000 giveaway on this date. Participants had to tag their friends in the post to enter the giveaway. We assume that this added exposure helped increase sales.

You can use this kind of information, found on the Sales Tracker, to give you inspiration for your own campaigns.
